City Trip Salzburg and Hallstatt

Day 1

Enjoy a comprehensive tour of Salzburg!

For many centuries, the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg ruled both the sacred and secular life of the city. To this day, a rich inheritance of imposing buildings testifies to their might. Allow yourself to be enchanted by these architectural gems!

The most renowned artists and architects of the Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque periods graced the city with their masterpieces. Take time to enjoy this enthralling city, with its magnificent buildings from all eras, and discover the world of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Visit Mozart's birth house after the bus tour.

Day 2
The tour will take you from Salzburg straight to the entrance of the salt mines. There, you will receive overalls to protect your clothing before climbing aboard the mine railway and traveling down into the shafts.

An expert guide will lead you through the maze of branching tunnels and explain the fascinating history of Alpine salt-mining. The adventure continues with a slide, taking you yet deeper into the ground – an exciting experience for young and old! Finally, right at the bottom of the mine, climb aboard a raft to journey across the extraordinary underground salt lake.
Day 3
Tour to Hallstatt from Salzburg 6 hours

Start the 5-hour trip from Salzburg with a drive through the famous Salzkammergut en route to Hallstatt, known as the Pearl of the Salzkammergut.

The route will take you through a number of charming villages. On arrival in Hallstatt you might begin your visit with a mountain train ride up to the entrance of the world’s oldest salt mines, where you can admire the views down onto Hallstatt.

Enjoy a leisurely walk along the lake and marvel how the houses above you seem to cling onto the mountainside. Pass by the Mullbach waterfall and visit the local museum.

A must-see attraction is the Bone House behind the Catholic church, which will give you an interesting view into local family life (admission not included).

You’ll then begin the return journey via Abtenau and Russbach to Gosau, where you’ll see the Gosau Lake and admire the views of the Dachtsein mountains.
